About Me

Rowan Ashley is an active and engaged multi-hyphenate about town. He can be found spending his time engaging in endeavors that connect him to his cultures as a gay, Jewish, multiracial trans man. Since coming out on the local news at the age of 13, Rowan has been a devoted member of Pocatello’s LGBTQ community. He has volunteered at more than a dozen Prides in Idaho over the past decade, ran Lambda QI (an HIV prevention program for LGBTQ community members in Pocatello) for 2.5 years, and is the current Vice President of Reading Time with the Queens. Rowan is also a frequent panelist and moderator on panels for Transgender Education, and travels around the state running his own Transgender 101 professional development training. In what is left of his free time, Rowan enjoys performing stand up comedy, doing the NYT crossword, and spending time with his partner, two children, and three cats.
